    To ensure the investigations of the systems of the thrust electric supply, the method of design of the electric power system containing the thrust load, the method of design of the unbalance of the input and consumption of the electric power for the train thrust, within the limits of sections (areas) of the railway, the method of measurement of the equalizing currents in the intersubstation zones, have been developed. In the cource of the theoretical and experimental investigations, the conditions of the rational conjugation of the systems of outside and thrust electric supply have been determined, the measures on the improvement of the electric power counter validity for the trauns thrust have been developed.     Improving the performance of electric traction systems is associated with the use of new technologies, the introduction of which is preceded by an assessment of the technical efficiency of their work. Nowadays, electric energy storage systems in Russia have not found application in electric traction systems, but questions are being actively developed on advisability and possibility of their use. And electric traction load of electric traction system of the Moscow Central Ring is not an exception, which forms in the conditions of domination on the area of passenger traffic and frequent electric tractions stops. Electric energy of high level of return of electric trains was formed on the site. Obtaining the technical result of assessing the use of energy storage systems of electric energy is most expedient to perform on the basis of simulation modeling of the interaction of electric rolling stock and electric traction system in the conditions of the Moscow Central Ring. Modeling results allow receiving the main characteristics of storage units and voltage load graph, determining the duration of work episodes in charge and discharge modes, their number and appropriate total volumes of electric energy per day. The received results allow assessing requirements to the technical characteristics of storage systems in relation to work conditions in the electric traction system of the Moscow Central Ring and performing assessment of economic efficiency of this activity

    The paper discusses the traction parameters of an electric locomotive of a new generation. The existing schemes of sections served by electric locomotives and locomotive crews at the studied railway operating domain are presented. A comparison of the main parameters of DC and single-phase AC electric locomotives, the operation of which is currently organized at sections with trains of estimated weight in the long-term traction mode on the ground slopes with different steepness, is made. The scheme of the proposed organization of operation of dual-voltage electric locomotive and locomotive crews is presented. Traction parameters of a dual-mode electric locomotive are calculated, taking into account the plan and profile of the track at the proposed sections of operation, the specific basic resistance to the movement of the locomotive and the train at the estimated speed, the specific accelerating and decelerating forces of the train. When dual-mode electric locomotives are put into operation, it will be possible to reduce the fleet of locomotives in operation, the number of locomotive runs due to their lengthening, and the number of locomotive crew relief points, reduce the transit time of freight trains, increase technical and service speed, average daily mileage and average daily performance of the locomotive, reduce power consumption for traction. The operation of such electric locomotives contributes to the development of technologies for rail traffic management and the improvement of quantitative and qualitative indicators of various railway facilities

    Artificial intelligence methods to control the energy efficiency of electric rolling stock online

    The international practices in organizing the energy consumption control of electric rolling stock are analyzed. As a result, it was concluded that currently the issue of organizing the energy consumption control of electric rolling stock is mainly solved by using analytical methods. These methods are based on designing the simulation models, which are usually based on the Pontryagin maximum principle. However, considering the development of recording systems for motion parameters of electric rolling stock, as well as other automated systems of Russian Railways, it seems promising to develop and study artificial intelligence methods and algorithms for solving real-time monitoring issues of electric rolling stock energy consumption. It was also determined that the most modern motion parameter recorders have a number of significant drawbacks from the data analysis point of view. Such drawbacks include insufficient data and their low reliability, lack of linking the recorded data to trips and locomotive teams, the impossibility of choosing a constant interval for recording measurement results. Moreover, there is also high probability of errors when recording data on the cartridge, lack of GPS/GLONASS satellite navigation system, lack of wireless data transmission, imperfection of software and inconvenience of exporting data from a cartridge file and its incompleteness. In order to test the energy efficiency assessment of electric rolling stock within the limits of arbitrary energy tracking areas, the Corresponding software was developed on the basis of data from the motion parameters recorders. However, developing the new complex automated system is required for the full implementation of the proposed consumption tracking method. Such system should combine the entire set of measured parameters, both for electric rolling stock and for the traction power supply system

    Concept of intelligent system for controlling regenerative braking and using recovery energy

    The issue of increasing the level of electrical energy recovered by the electric rolling stock and the efficiency of its use at the electrified sections of railways of JSC “Russian Railways” is still topical at present. This issue is considered today in the context of increasing the efficiency of the use of traction rolling stock. Increasing the energy efficiency of the transportation process by increasing the efficiency of recovery can be achieved both by the implementation of organizational decisions and through the introduction of additional equipment in the traction power supply system, for example, installation of reversible converters at traction substations or power storage devices on electric rolling stock and in the system of traction power supply, as well as other technical means, changing the parameters of the operation of sections with mandatory provision of the operability of the regenerative braking systems in the electric rolling stock. To assist in the reasoned adoption of similar and other managerial decisions, it is advisable to create an intelligent system for controlling the processes of applying regenerative braking and using recovery energy. This paper briefly reviews the main results of scientific research on the efficiency of recovery, suggests a mechanism for adapting the methods developed earlier to the system for controlling energy efficiency of recovery processes at the sections of railways

    The paper is devoted to the development of technology for reducing the consumption and losses of electrical energy of railway transport enterprises on the basis of the concept of “smart enterprise”. A design solution to the monitoring and management system for energy efficiency indicators was proposed; monitored parameters and influencing factors were determined. The application of the simulation model in the MATLAB/Simulink program for determining the set values of the monitored system parameters, namely, power losses and power factor depending on the influencing factors, is considered.     The article discussed the questions of the railway transportation organization along the transport corridors passing through the territory of Russia using the innovative locomotives of new generation with the polygon’s structure of the transportation process’ organization. There was carried out an analysis of the railway car standing at the docking stations of the single-phase alternating and direct current. The results of simulation modeling of the transportation process on the railway sections, which have a docking station, are given. There are shown the positive effects of the perfection of the polygon’s exploitation technology of the locomotive fleet due to introduction of the double feed electric locomotives to the transport corridors, manifesting in the cargo delivery’s time reduction due to reduction of the ready train’s standing time at docking stations twice, in comparison with the time during exploitation of the only single-system electric locomotives, and also in increasing of the area’s speed of trains in the all polygon of the heavy trains’ turnover. The usage of the double feed electric locomotives in areas, which contains different kinds of the current, allows increasing the quality parameters of the traction electric rolling stock’s exploitation. There were considered the ways to increase the energy efficiency of the double feed electric locomotives, particularly by applying the electric energy storage unit for connection to the DC link of the electric locomotive’s power circuit.
